Our mission at Ivanhoe is to help you find the wine YOU love. Whether you are new to the wine game or a seasoned wine taster, our experienced (and passionate) cellar door hosts will guide you through the best way to taste and enjoy our premium Hunter Valley wines.
At Ivanhoe, we’re renowned for our friendly, knowledgeable service and are always excited to welcome visitors to sample our wines, have a chat and enjoy our beautiful vineyard. Individuals, couples and groups of up to 4 can be catered for so please get in touch if you are visiting for a special occasion - we’ll make sure your visit is a memorable one.
PERSONAL TASTING: Swirl, sniff and take three sips…
Cellar door visitors are invited to participate in a personal wine tasting experience when they visit. The personal tasting is a ‘how to’ of wine tasting designed to ensure you get the most out of each wine you sample. Your host will give you hints and tips to help you identify the key characteristics of a wine so you can judge each wine for yourself. By the end of your tasting, you’ll be able to name your likes and dislikes, so you can find the Ivanhoe wine you love.
The personal tasting is the perfect introduction to Ivanhoe’s wines and an ideal addition to your itinerary if you have a few cellar doors to visit. These newfound wine tasting skills will come in handy as you visit other cellar doors during your visit to Pokolbin and the Hunter Valley.
$10 per person. Bookings highly recommended.

If you have a bit more time on your hands and want to treat yourself, we recommend booking a VIP wine tasting. This experience includes the wine masterclass as well as:
- A gourmet Hunter Valley cheese platter served with a selection of olives, dried fruits and quince paste
- Access to exclusive wines (premium selections, limited releases & museum releases)
- Personal wine consultant to help you find wines that you'll love
- Access to our Round Table room and Verandah tasting areas

Ken and Bel gave us an exceptional experience from the minute we walked in the door. Ivanhoe Wines has an amazing property with great views, friendly and knowledgeable staff and delicious bold reds. We spent an hour at the cellar door chatting away and having a great time. I would highly recommend coming to the Hunter and supporting a small family winemaker like Ivanhoe.

Came here for a hens weekend away. First winery was Ivanhoe and we were left in the extremely capable hands of Brayden. He made the whole experience the best wine tastings I've ever been to. He was so fun and knowledgeable. Answered every question we had and was not scared to have a laugh. Wines were amazing too. Will definitely come back here!
