Seated Wine Tasting

A tasting is a perfect introduction to Ivanhoe’s wines and an ideal addition to your itinerary if you have a few cellar doors to visit. These newfound wine tasting skills will come in handy as you visit other cellar doors during your visit to Pokolbin and the Hunter Valley.

Your host will give you hints and tips to help you identify the key characteristics of a wine so you can judge each wine for yourself. By the end of your Seated Wine Tasting, you’ll be able to name your likes and dislikes, so you can find the Ivanhoe wine you love.

Adults - Enjoy a seated wine tasting with up to 6 pours of wine. Complimentary water provided.
Children - A cold non-alcoholic beverage is provided with an activity booklet and colouring pencils.  *Under 18's are not allowed to consume alcohol.

 Verified Great Time at Ivanhoe! Four of us visited on a Friday afternoon and had a great time. The wines were delicious, the views amazing and the overall experience was laid back and very comfortable. If you are tired of pretentious wine testings then this is the place for you. Enjoy.

 Verified Amazing wine and service Top friendly place, family run. Not pushy or hurried. We tried more than the advertised 6 wines under the very knowledgable and humorous eye of Kylie and Steve. Great cheese too. Not as fancy and glam as some others round here but for a great welcome, service and most important of all beautiful wines this is the place to come.

 Verified Stopping for a wine tasting we end up buying for a good wine and their good Muscat. I have been visiting Ivanhoe for the last couple of years. I often get a family visit and friends from overseas, Hunter Valley is a good place for tourists, first thing mostly one of our stop for a wine tasting is Ivanhoe. The staff of Ivanhoe are so friendly and informative specially Jonathan he makes you feel welcome, if you’re not a wine person you end up amazed the way Jonathan entertains.

 Verified BEST SHIRAZ IN THE HUNTER This is the 4th time we come back to Ivanhoe Wines and it certainly did not dissapoint. Best red wine in the area. Been a member I come back with friends every year as I want them to taste the amazing wine and the great variety Ivanhoe has. Every single time we get treated with respect, professionalism, experience and knowledge. This time we had an amazing time served by Jonathan. He was great with us, explained everything extensively and organised tasting of 7 different wines starting from the whites to the reds which in my opinion are the best in the Hunter. Amazing day, service with a smile. My friends left happy and with a good supply of wine for the summer season. Thank Jonathan and tram. Looking forward to come back again soon!

 Verified Amazing staff! We had such a great experience here! Delicious wine and a great cheeseboard to go along with it! We tasted 8 or 9 wines, and the selection was very wide. If you go here, ask for Parker! Such a sweet guy and just amazing at telling us all about the wines and the area, as well as other things to check out on our trip!  Verified Fabulous tasting experience We rang in the morning and we were able to book that day which we really appreciated with our tight schedule. Jonathan told us all about the vineyard and introduced us to 7 different varieties on the veranda. He careful explained their characteristics which made the tasting most enjoyable. There was no rushing and the cheese platter was perfect between each wine. Overall a brilliant tasting. Highly recommend.

 Verified Awesome Must visit in the Hunter Valley. Beautiful cellar door nestled at the foothills of the Broken Back Mountain range. Stunning sculptures and vineyard views. Wonderful cellar door staff. Thanks for taking such good care of me Jonathan. I can’t believe I’m giving a Springbok supporter a 10 out of 10 for service but you earned it.
